Editor ..
Rubber for industrial use consists of both natural and synthetic rubber. Both types have different advantages and disadvantages. Most of the products require both types of rubber to bring up the most effective property in the products.
Synthetic rubber is derived from a fossil-based high technology, while the raw material can run out in the future and is not environmentally friendly. It may not be beyond the human’s ability to seek the way to prevent and mitigate such problem in today’s cyber world.
Natural rubber is the only source in which the consumption still runs high, given the price remains in the customers’ acceptance. The rubber trees, meanwhile, can be replanted endlessly. Also, the production is uncomplicated and environmentally friendly, and helps reduce the global warming effectively.
If we still have to use both types of rubber, how will we increase the raw materials for industrial manufacturing, or develop the materials to be the processed products in a sustainable manner?
The whole process of rubber industry, covering the selection of the high-quality clones, rubber planting, the local rubber processing, throughout the industrial manufacturing, is significant. The process should be developed in a consistent and sustainable manner, and takes into account the reduction of the greenhouse gas, the main factor of global warming.
APEST Conference and Exhibition, which is to be held in Bangkok in the middle of July 2012, will gather the updated technology from international experts’ research which supports the entire development of rubber industry. The discussion will also touch upon the carbon footprint in order to underline the sustainable development and the global-warming reduction under the rubber development.
